How Can I Help?

Right now, our biggest need is for foster parents.

What is fostering?

Fostering is taking in an animal for a short period of time to allow it to get accustomed to living in a home and give it a safe place to be until it gets adopted.Sick cats recovering from an illness, kittens too young to be fixed need to be taken care of until they can be adopted, and all of the cats we catch will need a little care to get used to being in a home. Fostering helps us to get cats off of the street and into safe, loving homes.

What is the time commitment?

You could have your foster cat anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple of months, but if you’re not sure you want a pet right now, it’s a much shorter time commitment than adopting an animal, so it’s a great way for you to test the waters. It’s also a lot of fun to foster kittens and watch them grow up – and then find them homes before they get big.

Why should I foster?

Fostering saves lives and is really fun and rewarding! Because we are a small organization with no facility for holding animals, we depend on our foster homes to take in cats – we literally cannot do this without you!

I have other pets – is this ok?

Yes, as long as you have somewhere (a large or spare bathroom or bedroom, a dog crate) where you can isolate your foster cat if necessary. We get all of our cats tested for FIV/FeLV when they are fixed, but you won’t want to let them mingle with any resident cats you have until they’re tested.

I have more questions!

Great! Use our contact form and we’ll get back to you with answers!

I can’t foster, how else can I help?

We can always use monetary donations to help cover the cost of surgery and other expenses – you can donate via the paypal link on the right or let us know if you need info on sending a check.

We can also use in-kind donations – cat food, cat litter & boxes, crates & carriers, used blankets and towels.  Let us know if you’d like to donate some items or if you’d like to help organize a donation drive!

We can also use anyone who wants to help us in any way – organizing, creating literature, helping with fundraising and education programs – just let us know and we’ll find a way for you to help!

Your donations will help a cat!

Some of our expenses:
Renting traps
Spay/neuter surgery + shots & flea treatment for each cat($25/cat)
FIV/FeLV testing($20/cat)
Microchip ($5/cat)
Fostering (food, medicine, etc)

We plan to give you the opportunity to sponsor a specific cat after we catch them.

If you would like to help, but do not have a paypal account, please use the contact form and we will tell you how to send a donation.
