Cute little Odessa (now Skittles) was a nasty, feral little kitten when we found her, but she warmed up quickly and was adopted from OutFest in the fall of 2010. She is now growing into an elegant young lady of a cat!

Temple Cats at 3rd Annual Walk for Animals June 25

Temple Cats will be attending the festival at the 3rd Annual Walk for Animals, sponsored by PAWS and The Humane League of Philadelphia. From 11AM – 1PM, we’ll be at the Ethical Society Building (1906 S. Rittenhouse Square), with some adoptable cats and info on how you can help, so come by and say hello! Also, we still need some volunteers and transport for this event (specifically, we need a folding table – someone has offered to lend us one, but we need to pick it up.) If you are free on Saturday and would like to help out at the event or with transporting cats/supplies to/from the event, please let us know!

Adoption Day – PETCO Northeast this Weekend.

5-14-11 & 5-15-11 from 11-3pm PETCO NE at Grant and the BLVD, will be having adoption days. We will bring all the kitties out and you can meet them all as well as three Temple Cats Lundy, Cassie & Aurelia. So come on out and find a new furbaby. Temple Cat Volunteer as well as PAWS NE Volunteer Tara, will be there this Saturday from 11-3 to answer any specific questions about all our cats.

We had a great event tonight at the 12th Street Gym, and Fred Astaire found a home! He’ll be going home with his new dad this weekend. We got to talk to a lot of great people and spread the word about Temple Cats. Thanks so much to Kellie and the rest of the warm and welcoming staff of 12th Street – we’re hoping to make this a regular event for us. If you’re a 12th Street Gym member, make sure you stop by and see us next time!

3 Cats on Carlisle St near Temple Hospital need Foster Care

Another dedicated Temple employee has been feeding 3 cats near Temple Hospital. She has 5 cats of her own and can’t take these guys in, so they need foster care! We can take care of all of their veterinary care, but they need somewhere to stay until they’re ready to be adopted! The two gray ones are very sweet, especially with each other. The black one is shy, but not unfriendly. We think they may all be male. If you can help, please let us know – this is not a good neighborhood, and a lot of the cats that come out of here are in bad shape – and it’s getting cold! Let’s get these guys off the street and into a warm bed as soon as we can!

Outfest Success!

We had a great time at Outfest on Sunday, Oct 10. Simon was adopted, and we had several people apply to adopt Odessa – she’s not old enough to go home yet. Persephone also got picked up by her new mom, and Autumn won “Best in Show” at the Outfest Pet Show! We raised a good amount of money to help Cody’s mom pay for his surgery, as well! It was a great time, and we met a lot of awesome people! Thanks to everyone who volunteered, and to those who organized this great event and gave us the opportunity to get Temple Cats out there!

Sweet little Cody underwent surgery to fix an ulcer on his one eye last week. He was already missing the other eye and he had the surgery in the hopes he wouldn’t lose his vision entirely. The surgery went well, although we don’t know how his vision will be, and he’s not 100% out of the woods yet – he is on a lot of medication and needs your good vibes and prayers sent his way! Unfortunately, his vet bills & medication cost upwards of $2000, and his foster mom could use some help paying for that. Midtown Village Fall Festival Success – 5 adoptions!

Saturday’s Fall Festival was an amazing success – we had 5 adoptions (Chloe, Murphy, Elsa, Pippin, Big Bunny – and Lila was adopted the night before). We raised a lot of money and talked to a lot of amazing people! Al from Rescue Ink showed up to give us some support and draw a crowd, and we had a great time.
